The mission of Black Mountain District Cub Scout Day Camp is to provide its members a safe, fun and valuable Cub Scouting experience by supporting the Cub Scout Program and living the Cub Scout Promise, The Law of the Pack, and the Cub Scout Motto. Boys develop the necessary life skills to prepare for the challenges of Scouting and to help succeed in future endeavors while they and their families grow together in community spirit.

2012 Black Mountain District Cub Scout Day Camp

"Jedi Scouting Academy"

June 11 - June 15 from 9am - 3pm (FULL)
July 23 - July 27 from 1pm - 7pm

Please note that we are still looking for someone to act as July Twilight Camp Director. The June Day Camp Director is currently handling all registrations and volunteers at this time, but cannot attend July Day Camp. We need someone willing to step in, go to National Camp School, work with Julie and physically be present for July Twilight Camp. If you are interested, please contact Kent Lee at kent.lee@scouting.org.

Each pack is required to provide one 5-day adult volunteer for each group of five Scouts. Remember, all camp registration will be done through the packs. Follow the steps below to get registered for camp!

  1. Have one person from the pack be the coordinator for all the information, and collect the forms.
  2. Make sure EACH person coming to camp fills out a registration form AND a health form.
    • Each Cub Scout.
    • Each 5-day Adult Staff Volunteer.
    • Each teenager wanting to be a Den Chief.
    • Each younger sibling (ages 3 to 12).
    • And all other volunteers helping for a day or more.
  3. Tiger Cub Scouts are those Cub Scouts that are starting 1st grade in the Fall and they must be accompanied by an adult partner the entire week from either 9am-noon or 1pm-4pm depending on which camp they are attending.
  4. Make sure the parents have signed in ALL the needed places on each form - we know this is a hassle, but it is required.
  5. Especially don't forget the T-Shirt Size for each Person.
  6. Make sure everyone has paid the correct amount - Payment can be either by credit card or by check payable to "BSA #1.6801-837-20":
    • Early Bird till May 7 = $100 (Tigers are $50)
    • Late Registration from May 8 to June 4 = $120 (Tigers are $75)
    • Adult Volunteers = no cost (plus $10/day discount on their child's fee)
    • Teens as Den Chiefs = no cost
    • Siblings = $6 each for each day the parent volunteers (for their shirt, patch, program and camp goodies)
  7. Fill out the summary sheet for your Pack.
  8. Use one of the methods below to register the whole pack.  They go in order of ease.  So please try to bring your packet to a Roundtable first.  If you can't make those, then please mail down to council second.  Mail to me (Julie Knowles) as an absolute last resort!!
    • Bring packets (with payment) to monthly Roundtable between 7:30 and 8:30pm
2nd Thursday of every month (April 12 (for June), no Roundtable in May, June 14 (for July), July 12 (for July))
      LDS Stake
      15750 Bernardo Heights Pkwy
